Heather Roberts began dancing at age 4 to aid her curious duck walk and quickly discovered she had a passion for movement. Steeped in ballet and later modern dance techniques and master of neither, she found her dance voice in Scottish Highland Dance with Susanna Ross (Hill Country Highland Dance School, Austin Texas) late in high school. As an adult she began to study Irish dance with the kind guidance of Danny Tighe (Tighe School) and Meighan Carpenter (Inis Cairde School) two teaching treasures here in North Carolina. In college Heather met good friend Cat White who taught her stories and ballads of the Appalachian Mountains which joyfully led her to meet her handsome, talented husband Chad Roberts. When Heather is not dancing, singing, and telling stories she is masterminding ways to use these creative paths to work with her students as a school counselor.
